Massage and Bodywork

HelenHelen began her training at Shepton Mallet Adult Learning in 2002 and completed her training in 2006. Helen has always had an interest in holistic therapy and thinks that this probably started when she was a child mixing flower petals in her parent’s garden!

Helen is experienced in working with people with cancer and as well as working at Neal’s Yard Remedies Helen is also a member of the therapy team and RNID Poolemead in Bath providing massage and aromatherapy treatments for deaf and deaf/blind adults with additional learning difficulties.

Helen finds all areas of her work extremely rewarding and – as she puts it – finally found out what she wanted to do when she left school 20 years after she had left!

About Rebecca

I’m a body therapist and use the disciplines of Shiatsu and Family Constellation to bypass the mind and listen to what your body knows. I’ve been practising Shiatsu bodywork since 1998, teaching Shiatsu at practitioner and post-graduate level since 2006, and more recently trained in Family Constellation / Systemic coaching work to bring an awareness of ancestral lines and inherited blocks to my practice.

I use being outside in nature, yoga, quiet time alone, study and personal insight to develop and deepen my life understanding and my professional work. From a young age I have had a deep interest in people’s stories and experience of what it means to be human, and how we can adapt and emerge from very difficult times.

About the work

Shiatsu bodywork is a healing and relaxing touch therapy where you can be profoundly met on an emotional, physical and spiritual level. I work within a broad range – from stress and body tension, emotional trauma and life issues to illness and post-operative support. My specialisation is women’s health, but I also work with men, bringing a deep tenderness to the difficulties of being human and to man/woman issues. It’s a one hour session, either one-
off or ongoing.

Family Constellation / Systemic Coaching is a way of exploring any question relating to yourself, current relationships, generational family issues, illness, or work life. I practice individual constellations where you name the issue that you want to explore – some examples are relationships with creativity, money, self-esteem, mothers, fathers, children, anger. Your body wisdom directs the process, with often surprising new information coming up and unconscious emotions becoming conscious. It can have a powerful and life changing effect, especially because it is a felt body experience. It’s a one-off, two hour session where I hold a safe space for you.

Jeremy Dymond

After experiencing the many benefits of massage myself I eagerly completed my professional training at Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork (BCMB) and realised I had an aptitude and passion for this work.

From this strong base I have continued to develop my work through professional advanced courses and am now an Assistant Tutor at BCMB

Throughout my work I am continually looking to find the most effective and appropriate ways to use the techniques I have learnt. This helps me to give care and focus to my clients whether the work is soft and gentle or satisfyingly firm.

My aim is to make the process as soothing as the outcome.

Carla HanreckI started studying Shiatsu in 1997. At the time I was working in a charity in London. Shiatsu gradually came to become the new direction for my life. In 2004 we moved from London to Frome, Somerset.

I then added the Bowen Technique and Thai Foot Massage to my skills.

As of March 2013 I completed the first year of Donna Eden’s Energy Medicine training, which focuses on how we can adapt our systems to meet the new stresses – be it chemical, emotional, physical or spiritual  – that we have never met  before in our evolution.

Nadia Hillman (2)
“Central to my approach is a warm, nurturing touch rooted in a sensitive and responsive connection between us.  Although every client is unique there are universal human needs which I am attuned to throughout the treatment.
The Siddha Marmani Massage (Marma Point Massage) is a relaxing remedy rarely found outside of India; due, in part, to the protected Siddha lineage it hails from. The Siddha System is the oldest traditional treatment system in the world and deeply guarded. I hold my training in great esteem and feel honoured to have learnt this practice under an indian teacher who worked for many years to gain the respect and trust of her master-teacher so that she too could share this powerful treatment with her students. Each body contains 107 ‘marma points’ and the systematic stimulation of each; interspersed with varied flowing strokes can facilitate and accelerate the systems natural healing capabilities.
Alongside and sometimes combined with reiki energy and the specialised Indian head; neck and upper back massage, my offering is balancing, thorough and deep and addresses all manner of weaknesses, ailments, discomforts and emotional-needs. If you want to try something different; you won’t look back. One client described the treatment as “like a tune-up” ”.

I gained a special interest in holistic health, wellness and natural beauty on my travels around the world. Having worked in the fashion industry for many years and still modelling well into my fifties -I have had a vested interest in how to look and feel ones best totally naturally!

I am trained in Reiki, Cranio-Sacral Therapy , Reflexologist AOR and specialise in maternity treatments often combining aromatherapy, massage and reflexology. Rejuvanessence and Facial Energy Release- face therapy. Qualified in Advanced Massage in 1990 and became an IFPA registered Aromatherapist and Rejuvanessence® practitioner in 1991.

Please take a look at my own website carolinejosling.com

My treatments often draw on a mélange of all these techniques with a strong holistic lean; I offer advice on how to optimise health naturally with life- style and supplements suggestions whilst complementing any conventional medical treatment. In a busy and often stressful world I believe that treatments can restore and revive the person, as well as offering support whilst going through a stressful time, recovering from illness, low energy or grief. Treatments can help to release pent up stress and tension to help you regain balance.

I have run many practitioner trainings since 2004 /2013 for The International Institute of Rejuvanessence and now run practitioner trainings in Facial Energy Release-face therapy.

Facial Energy Release – face therapy

This is a wonderful life-enhancing therapy that soothes away the ravages of modern life. Unique fingertip holistic therapy also known as “Angels Touch”.

It includes gentle, very precise massage of the 91 muscles of the face, neck skull and shoulders whilst also working on facial connective tissue making it more elastic and flexible.

As well as looking younger, clients often say that they feel invigorated, rejuvenated, healing.  Blissfully hypnotic touch works on lymph, acupuncture points releasing blocked energy and tension. A course of Facial Energy Release comprises of six sessions of 80 minutes each working on different groups of connective tissue and muscles.

Keiko KishimotoSince I first trained as a holistic therapist, I have constantly updated my skill and knowledge.  Now I offer a wide range of holistic treatments and, depending on your needs or conditions I carefully choose your treatment plan with you. All my treatments are tailor made to ensure you have a truly holistic experience.

I use combinations of different techniques for my massages which allow me to range from a firm pressure to a delicate touch, which helps to release the tension seated in any depth of tissue.
I have an extensive knowledge of aromatherapy and use this for my treatments. Aromatherapy and holistic treatments work wonderfully together and I take pride in this combination which helps not only reduce physical problems but may also bring emotional relief as well. My treatments are always based on ‘de-stressing’ and you can feel both physically and mentally lighter after my treatment.

Leora Sharp - Healing massage and bodywork

Specialisation

I am here to help women through difficult times. I offer safe and supportive massage during bereavement, illness and any other mentally and emotionally challenging and stressful times.

About Leora

The treatments are deeply nurturing, relaxing, restorative, therapeutic and healing. Each treatment is different and together, we plan each session according to your needs.

The sessions can be gentle and will leave you peaceful and nurtured. We will also explore post treatment self-care options.

I respect you, your modesty and your privacy – it’s all about you.

Through massage and bodywork we can work effectively to remove tension and niggling knots that build through stress. Working therapeutically and energetically, we can release emotional blockages and effectively support, guide and empower you to keep moving forward.

Nurturing massage can also be beneficial for your family, so they too can feel restored and supported.

I look forward to supporting your body, mind and soul with effective care.

I have been doing massage since 2007 and trained at Andy Fagg’s Bristol School of Massage and Bodywork.

Madeleine started working in London as a full time massage therapist in 2001. Her work has mainly been as a remedial massage therapist, with a fair amount of on -site chair work and some Thai massage. She has had a wide range of experience treating musicians, corporate workers, dancers, horse riders and anyone walking through the door. Since this time, she has continued to educate herself in different therapeutic modalities, in the quest to effectively treat a wide variety of injuries and physical issues.

In the last couple of years, her focus has changed to Structural Integration (alias Rolfing) and yoga therapy. The structural changes addressing old injuries and vocational postures brought about by the hands on fascial work in a structural integration treatment, followed by a personalised yoga practise bring about startling and completely satisfactory results. Many are unaware of the potential to bring the body back into a better alignment, with the freedom in movement and from aches and pain that accompanies this. Seeing one’s posture return to what it was brings a new lease of life.

Formerly a professional classical musician, her interest in body work and natural health began whilst writing her dissertation on Stress and Relaxation, for her BSc in Human Sciences, University College London. She is a keen traveller and has lived and worked in Europe, S-E Asia and Africa, and spent long periods in India.
